Junior B says no to Sholay

The real reason why Abhishek Bachchan has opted out of Ram Gopal Varma's Sholay is not moral but practical. The busy Bollywood star just couldn't give dates.
Those dates were committed to the inimitable Mani Ratnam. Yes, Abhishek Bachchan will be coming together with his Yuva director again for Ratnam's first film in the English language to be shot in London.

Sush in Prithviraj-Sanjukta

A replay of the Bhagat Singh kind of confrontation between Ajay Devgan and Sunny Deol has been averted. Raj Kumar Santoshi has withdrawn his proposed project to make Prithviraj-Sanjukta with Ajay Devgan .
The coast is clear for the eminently gifted Chandraprakash Diwedi who has already met Sunny Deol over several lengthy sessions and has finalized the actor for the coveted part.
It now seems that while Sunny will play the role of Prithviraj Chauhan, Sushmita Sen is expected to be in a pivotal role though NOT of Sanjukta.

Humko Deewana Kar Gaye is scheduled to release on April 14, but as always, release dates can be preponed or postponed even at the eleventh hour.

Aamir Khan: Most patriotic Bollywood Star

Aamir Khan seems to be Bollywood’s most patriotic star, having featured in Sarfarosh, Lagaan, Mangal Pandey and now Rang De Basanti.

Be it fate, coincidence or intended approach, his last few releases were more or less based on patriotism.

In Sarfarosh, he played a sincere police officer who tries to wipe off drug-trafficking between India and Pakistan and in Lagaan, he played a self-righteous villager in the pre-Independence era who meets British officers head-on.

And recently he featured in the most hyped patriotic film of 2005 Mangal Pandey - The Rising. He etched the role of a martyr - Mangal Pandey who triggered a revolt against the East India Company in 1857. The movie was released on Independence Day.

His latest film Rang De Basanti, slated for a Republic Day release, also has a tinge of patriotism. The film revolves around urban youth living in Delhi. After the “Mangal Pandey” debacle this is Aamir’s first release, let’s hope it hits gold at the box-office.
